Beat the fuck out of it. You shouldn't baby a new engine, that is a very big misconception. Break it in how you would drive it. The clutch only needs a hundred to two hundred miles for break in.

Exactly. The night I had my car running on the new engine I took it out for pulls. I let it get high up in the RPMS then let the engine slow the car down.

all you need is like 2-3 heat cycles to set the rings on a FRESHLY rebuilt motor. ppl think you need to baby them for tons of miles... all u gotta do is let the car get hot and cold a few times and you're free to beat on it

The car better be getting driven during these 2-3 heat cycles and not idling.

Alright, you guys are getting to me. I beat the shit out of it last night. And found out how fast it will go.... lol I'm not too worried about it, would just feel more comfortable after the first oil change. But I guess I have a lifetime warranty so what do I care?

Update: My car has been in the shop for almost two weeks. There was a squeak since I got it. Turned out to be the flywheel. They replaced the clutch while they had it apart. Total cost for Hyundai: $4,085. The car has 1300 miles on it. :( It's all better now though. Manual boost controller is going in tomorrow. The computer limits boost to 18 psi, but it should make it feel a little quicker. Overall, I love the car so far and I really hope this is just an isolated issue with my car and not others.

It made the noise since I bought it so...factory problem. It was the flywheel causing the squeak but they replaced the whole clutch just to make sure.

So it was your car, mechanic from hyundai stopped in yesterday was telling me how they had a genesis in with a squeeking transmission issue could just be a fluke though.

Yes, that was my car. Where was this at? Yeah, you cannot purchase the clutch disc by itself from Hyundai. The clutch disc and pressure plate come together, I guess.
Clutch and pressure plate:
$1013.18
Dual mass flywheel:
$3146.89

I hope I never have to replace the clutch.

Are you fucking serious?

Give it a few months and aftermarket will have a clutch 1/3 the price. I cannot believe that.. WHAT?! The car is only like 25 grand...
