so this thread is titled qcr friday sept 25th, its obviously a post about racing at the track. you come in here and call the track a friday night pissing contest. take your own advice, if you dont like the track, and dont like talking about it then stay out.

so slicks are lame, but drag radials are not. wow.  btw ive had drag radials on my car for awhile now, and they are awesome. if you made any real power you would know that they make a HUGE difference from a roll.

why would i care if my car is faster than a 75,000+ corvette? not sure why you keep bringing that up.

so then why exactly do you like roll racing better than racing from a dig?

like i said before, im not saying that you should race at the track, i dont give a fuck if you ever go to the track. but dont confuse the track with racing from a dig, the entire point im trying to make... im not just hatin on you, im hating on roll racing cuz its lame and doesnt prove anything. we just bickered about a bunch of dumb shit cuz thats what the interwebz is for. my bike is a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder that makes about 100 hp, want to race it from a roll? would it be fair to say that you got smoked by a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder that makes way less power than you? like brett tried to say, would the more POWERFUL vehicle win? nope. cuz racing a bike with a car is retarded, just like roll racing.

i agree.....if your not awd or running dr's or slicks. in that case its pretty easy.
so next nice day i'll text you. or a rainy day if you think your up to the vue.
and please tell me your not implying my dad bought my car..... thats the oldest one in the book. and its not even true. how lame. you know your beat so now you go to "oh well......PARENTS HAD TO BUY IT FOR HIM!!!" "wait what? it was half the price of my car?.....oh" classic. cant tell you how many times i've heard that one.

no i mean for the wrx firebird race when its nice out. neither of you trapped above 100 so i dont see why you would race past there since 1/4 mile has obviously gone by...but then again im not racing. im just watching. either way its gonna be awesome.

i've trapped 98 so yeah i guess we could run to around 100. i'll probably just wind out 4th and let out unless i clearly pass him before that. passenger will need to count down so we both have both hands. or arm drop w/e. why dont we just set a day to go to the track? or just compare time slips. idc. i just hate all the bullshit shit talking. i'll probably be going to the track soon. idk.

I was going to make a drawn out post...but it's late and I have to work in the morning...All I can say is there are some SERIOUS misconceptions about the need/want for a tire choice and how they won't help from a roll.

Also love the video input that showed virtually nothing but two automatic cars racing with similar power and weighing kickdown and where the car makes power from that point on....or how a car might perform all things given.....but it's not like you started at 5mph or even 10mph because the first and 2nd gear make a HUGE transistion into how much speed/momentum it actually carries once it sweeps past the 40mph starting point.
Did you even spin at the track in those vids?

The whole stuffing a sock in your pants thing is RETARDED. Esp if you are going to stand behind using drag radials. Actually having to use slicks is more like having a huge dick and finding a chick who isn't going to cry when you ram that fucker in and it's too much for her.

You think it's stupid because they serve no benifit to you. Have you ridden in a high HP streetcar on streettires? Mine is all sorts of fucked up right now needing a shortblock, but I was having to pedal out from a hooked 45mph roll as the car would get sideways towards the top of the gear as it BROKE traction after being hooked up, and again into the top of 3rd. You NEED a tire if you don't want to slide off the road and wreck......just gets worse the lower the gear. First gear is a freaking on/off switch for me.

You all need to stop taking shit so damn serious too, it's like you want to get in a damn fight over trying to prove your rediculous logics right. Go ahead and build your car. Eventually things like gears and a converter will be coming into play and you can see firsthand how much you think you hate the track and slicks. You and brett DO NOT have real traction issues, neither of you have a car that requires a roll to win a race. 10-15ft of spinning is not an issue unless you are trying to launch at 4k. Which you CAN hook if you used correct supporting mods...ie.a tire.I dig raced the shit out of my m6 t/a on the street and at the track. Guess what hooked better? Not the street.

I'll rant on in the morning...im goin to bed.

Since I don't feel like quoting 5 different posts I'll sum it up..

CruxSucks- What part of "you do what you do I'll do what I do, get over it" did you not catch? I said it 3 times now IIRC. Just accept other people like stuff you don't, and if you think it's gay remember theres thousands out there that think the same of what you like, and that goes for way more than just racing. To be fair, maybe I just got a bad experience with Quaker, IDK. How about we end all and just agree to disagree?

Brett- Kia VS WRX VS Vue VS TB sounds like fun.. COUNT ME IN. Hell get someone to drive the Libertaa out too. Just remember.. 19 second Kia reppin for da Kim Wongsu bout to own up ya'll bitches

RSBeast- You missed what I was trying to say. Answer me this: Can you run slicks on the street? No. << THATS THE POINT IM TRYING TO MAKE. And your analogy doesn't make sense.. When I said it's like putting a sock in your pants, I was saying that it makes your car look faster than it actually is. You will NEVER run slicks on the street, so why run at the track? DR's are different, you can run those where ever, and in that case the track can be useful, it can help you perfect your launches on the street.

And who's taking stuff serious? I'm having a good laugh with all this. Theres a little occasional butthurt, but IMO it's just a conversation between a few guys bored on a Sunday on the internet, nothing serious.

Anyways, to get back to actual racing instead of bullshit about roll racing....

Here is my best pass on the night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsUK0Dff034

From memory and from the video my times were:

R/T: .550
60': 1.60
E/T: 11.48
MPH: 114.5

I was fucking jacked after I made this pass, best ever, though I had to dial it back before the folks at QCR realized I didnt have a cage in my car. :D

So after that I was running 11.51's the rest of the night and made it to the 4th round where I ran an 11.518 on an 11.52 dial   .... I knew I should have lifted, but the car next to me was running 9's I think, and sometimes those cars come FLYING around you. I had a .523 light on that pass too.

I didnt really matter though because I was finished after that pass anyways. OIL LEAK. Fucking shit, the good news was that its probably something simple. I think that the oil filter bracket that connects to the block was coming loose and thats where the oil leak is from. so that should be a easy fix.
Err please stop fueling my silent rage..

BWAHAHA! It makes it LOOK faster?!!?! The car is PHYSICALLY turning a better time and somtimes mph. It doesn't LOOK anything, except look like you are fucking half retarded. My analogy makes awesome sense but you are too fucking dense to get your head around it. Your 'sock theory' implies that you are making power you don't have; which is total bunk as all it does is try to exploit the power you DO make. My 'actual big dick' theory implies the power IS there the whole time, because it is, and instead of making the road bleed because it's too much for it to handle, and using the track/slicks as you would some pornstar/slut who CAN take all that you can handle much as your current street tires cannot.

It's a supporting modification that CAN allow the rest of your components to do their jobs to the fullest, if they are ABLE. There are no socks. There is only uncorked potential. What about road course racing or any sort of motorsports? What of their slick tires? They're just on there for looks right? Not because they actually NEED them right?

So slicks are illegal? So is fucking streetracing you weaksauce N00b..yet you seem to love that shit as it's 'better'.
You can hook a fucking DR 95% as hard as a slick anyhow these days if it's a wrinkle style on a smaller rim. It's a supporting modification. Just like a clutch, just like axles, just like gears, just like control arms. Nothing actually increases power output. THERE IS NO SOCK. It simply allows your shit to do work to the fullest.

It's like your point is do whatever you want on the street...just so long as you don't run slicks. Because it's cheating in your head somehow. But drag radials somehow AREN'T cheating and aren't 'stuffing your pants'.

I don't like to come down to insults with your N00b ass but your logic is seriously fucking flawed.

Woah there keyboard Rambo, no need to get all verbal. Especially since you still haven't got what I was trying to say.

When I get back from class I'll make another post, I'll even include pictures, but just to hold you over ponder this: I said slicks are lame because you can't use them on the street but DRs you can.. Well, first off, when someone is slick, what are they? Smooth. Are DR's smooth? No, but DR's are legal.. so it must mean that slicks have ZERO TREAD.

I've been trying to communicate this to you guys for 2 days now, and I'd bet when I get home you STILL haven't got it, and you call me dense?

What is your argument? Slicks are dumb because you cannot use them on the street legally?

Not that going to the track is a waste? Not that slicks are a waste because you can only use them on the track? Have you read your other rants? Surely it wasn't because slicks make you LOOK faster?

One isn't even a radial tire, not just the tread. Radial does not mean it has lines in it and that's what makes a drag radial different from a slick its the actual construction. Do you even know what you're bitching about?

I said all those things and made seperate points to go a long with them, such as dynolicious being a substitute for the track, and the slicks thing was just covered moments ago for the seventh time so I'm moving on from that. By the way if that last part was meant as a personal insult, I don't think I'd be insulting someone for being slow when it took me about 5 different posts saying the same damn thing to get through to you. If not, disregard that.

RSbeast wrote:One isn't even a radial tire, not just the tread. Radial does not mean it has lines in it and that's what makes a drag radial different from a slick its the actual construction. Do you even know what you're bitching about?

I don't care about construction, I care about which one is legal for street use. Look at it this way: If you had a professional football team, would you have then running illegal plays in practice? In baseball, would you have pitchers throwing with pine tar in practice? No, because that wont transfer to real world experience. I view the track as a practice place where you can get a base number that can help you on the street. Thats me. End of story. You had it a second ago, what happened? Don't make me take that trophy back

Anyways, yeah I was going to make a big post but who cares, its the internet and nothings going to be solved by argueing and to avoid butthurt I'm just going to let it go. You know how I feel, I know how you feel, lets move on, ok?

If you guys are so inclined about roll racing, you should just go and buy a Supra.

Or you can try to build your car to race in the Texas Mile. But I don't think you would be able to break 200mph let alone a record of 246mph.

18, driving as in license or just in general? 3 years license, in general since about 13-14.

No, my first car was a 74 Roadrunner. I have pictures but none are digital and no scanner, my next car was a Camaro V6 (http://www.fquick.com/garages/viewvehicle.php?id=21740) then I bought my Z28.

and i see why you want to let the slick argument go, its obvious you got pwned over and over. i mean come on man...illegal street racing is fine, but doing it with illegal tires is not?? umm whaat?

I thought I did reply? Oh well I must have deleted it, anyways I like roll racing because it's accessible ("Mexico" is right off where we cruise), you can't safely stop in Mexico, and if you see a cop whip a u-turn.. fuck it, keep it down and once you get around the bend you're out of sight ;) Street racing? What street racing, officer?

Now I understand you like racing from a dig, I'm actually racing someone from a dig tonight in the country behind my house. I'm down for a dig race any time, I just don't feel like driving out to Liberty any time I want to race. Plus I'm not going to lie, my car from a dig isn't very fast. 2.73 gears kill it, in the spring I'll be a lot better.

Now, as for the illegal equipment vs illegal racing.. Ok, listen. If you get caught racing, what do you say? "No, it wasn't me, for real I'm comming from X going to X and these fuckers blew by me, I tried catching one to get his plate but I wasn't going that fast" etc etc etc. When you get pulled over with slicks "No dude, I wasn't racing" "Oh, those.. uh, no they don't exist I dont know what you're talking about"? Not to mention if you get pulled over on the way to the race, out cruising, or get caught in a freak rainstorm.. if it's the latter, I hope you plan to spend the night on the side of the road facing the other way in a ditch.
