I've been looking up rear ends, and was thinking is it possible to take a ford 8.8 or the rear end of the mustangs which i hear are pretty strong, and make it fit my car?

9" is the beast rearend, but a 8.8 will hold up just fine, plenty of turbo stangs putting down 1500+ on 8.8s... and yes its not hard to make it work.

I picked up a 8.8 out of a cobra for about 200 bucks, swapped to 4.11 gears and 31spline mosers and a new posi unit. For less than a grand u got an indestructible rear end
