im actually thinking it doesnt come off. well at least without ruining something. would vinyl be able to go over it? i dont want it to be shiny, just black.

why not.. as long as it has a solid surface to stick to... might look kinda ghetto if you dont take your time..

take a pic of it

The window trim is usually removable but I wouldn't recommend it. For one thing most likely depending on how old your car is that area is rusted underneath. Also once you get it off it will probably not want to go back on easily.

im guessing it is just that chrome trim stuff you can buy from autozone? or did it come like that factory? if its the stuff from autozone its probably just 3m taped on. you could do vinyl im sure, or sand it down, paint, and clear it. vinyl would be alot easier/weather resistant though i would think.

^^^what deviant said is true also. you may be able to put weather stripping in there, but it would be hard to get it to look right.

well basically i want around my windows black like this

but right now it has the chrome trim around it like this

if vinyl will stick and can handle a power washer (not familiar with vinyl) im gonna take a couple hours doing that instead of ripping it all off.

vinyl can handle a power washer as long as your not like 3 inches from it. it may be different on such a small area though, i dunno. if you do vinyl and it gets messed up you can always go back though.
