I stared at your car on Wick like a dumb animal for about 10 minutes today. Good job in making me feel like an inferior douch for builing a car with 300whp aspirations, that will probably blow up by the end of the season. Asshat. :D
It looks really badass chillin there all caged up. I didn't realize how much you had into that car.

Yeah, between school, work, and internshipping I have almost no time to work on my car except on random nice weekends and school breaks.
Mostly I just need to go though the mess of wiring that I've made, amongst other things that I half assed.

I'd like to check out your car in the coming weeks and see how my car compares in the butt dyno. You're the only other person I know with a 240 besides the people I bought my cars off of. I am very curious as to how a KA-T stacks up against the other Nissan engine swaps and setups since there's so many. I may consider a different engine in the future if I can find a cheap motorset.

Thanks man, yeah theres a few small issues astically I need to fix on my car. Align my panels a bit better, and straighten up my gutted trunk area. The car needs a good buff/wax as well. I appreciate it though.

For sure I can stop by sometime. I'm hitting the dyno saturday morning hopefully all will go well as the boost levels and timing rise. I'll know more when the day comes. Currently the car is running really well I'm finally able to adjust boost up and down. (couldnt before, I think my halman MBC was sticking) We can go for a ride after the hopefully final tune. I'll see if my clutch can hold up... ekk.

Dont hate on 300whp, I was running about that back with the stock turbo it was VERY fun. Honestly for a circuit track car 300-350 hp 240 is like perfect. The car was very fun and I wasnt too too scared to press the car hard in corners. This now is a different story, unless the road is dead straight, and non bumpy I dont get on it. Lol I'm sure you will be fine at 300whp, just do it right, and have it tuned well it will take it.

Do you know the driver of a hunter green Zenki S14 that goes to YSU? License Plate says "Quikish" or something to that effect. I'd like to know more about that car. Its got a frontmount so its boosted in some way.

I have lots of 240 parts for sale and keeps. If he does need anything just ask and I might have... its just too much to list.

The car drove for a few weeks last year.

I didn't know about a green zenki, however I do know about a green Kouki that went to YSU with an SR20 from PA. Not sure if you messed up the years at all. Zenki 95-96 Kouki 97-98?

Mark 300whp in that light as thing would be a BLAST! My stang made that n/a and it's a tank in comparison, and it was still alot of fun esp in the lower gears. We need to have some sort of half ass meet here, I want to roll out with the new hotness and check everyones fresh setups!

I had it going before, but now I have all the fuel done. With the powerpipe on it, the blower is LOUD. It's awesome!

I need a tune something aweful though now haha...it's way fat even at idle

Well was on the rollers today, was doing some decent things early at low boost. Car made some decent power, then we began to run into a headgasket issue, which it ended up popping by the end. Engine was blowing compression into the coolant passages under boost, which started as just a little bit of overflow, and progressively raised coolant temps while boosting, as well as dragging the power down with it. I'll upload the video of the runs once I receive them from Andrew.

Headgasket issue is most likely something to do with the surface finish on the head/block. Its a 5 layer Cosworth Gasket held down by ARP headstuds.

Plans are to remove the head/inspect, hopefully all is alright. I'll check the head for straightness, and she then will hopefully be getting a stock organic gasket with fresh ARP studs. I'll know more once I take a good peak inside, the plugs all looked pretty good, not really any signs of pre-det. A/F's were 11.2's-11.4's.

I'll see, depressing times for sure. This car has fought me every step of the way after going to an APU setup. I'm trying hard not to just give up.

was this thing oversised thickness if so.. that is a good possibility as to why it blew.

Its .5 mm over stock. He is competent thanks. Hes Motec certified and has tuned a few 8 second DSM's.

Most likely surface finish from the machine shop or the possibility of slight head warpage.(temps were never above 210 degrees since it first started) Metal headgaskets need mirror like finish, that is would it should have been, but I didn't not install the headgasket however I simply was given a built long block. The headgasket was slightly leaking before failing (was showing this by blowing water out of the overflow and temps rising about 10 degrees F per pull, there was no sign of oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil, even after popping it was just entering the cylinders). It was most likely a sealing issue, not an instance of pre-det that caused basically an explosion. There was no noise with the headgasket failing just a huge loss in power and smoke. Its on video I'll get it up when I receive it. Its very common for metal headgaskets to leak if the mating surfaces are not properly prepped.

People really don't have issues with stock HG's and studs under 25 psi. As long as my head is okay I will be doing this however my compression will rise from 9.0 to 9.3 due to my head being resurfaced a few times now... I can live with that however.

try copper spray

i use it on all my metal head gaskets. It helps to seal any minor imperfections in the mating surfaces.

My builder was against it. I'm just going back to factory, Id rather not risk the chance of a repeat.
