yea block has been drilled and tapped, but the head no. i dont really wanna cut in to my head so i bought another set of head studs today from vw. there off an audi. they are from the 2.7tt as earlier stated. the bolts are too long so my im gonna prob take them up to fitch in the metals room and use the saw to cut them down. they have one that oil flows on the blade as its cutting. then run a die over them

sounds like your refering to a bandsaw. that will work.. might wanna put a nut on it before cutting that way when the cutting is done, you can spin the nut off, thus fixing the ending point of the threads! ;) then u can always clean them up with a thread file.

i'll take this time to plug the bandsaw that i have for sale! first 100 bux takes it! ;)

very cool lookin man!

I especially like that downpipe, looks to have very good flow.

only thing i see that is questionable is the amount of weight hanging off the end of that manifold like that. At least it's cast so it's got a lot more strenth than many other things but do you have any plans to brace it?

I'd say if he braces the downpipe under the car well it should be fine.

as of my im using this manifold. i did plan on bracing this. i was thinking about getting some flat stock and making i brace. i do have holes on the block from there the stock turbo brace was so i can bolt it there and then bolt it on the outside of the turbo to manifold studs and locktite the shit out of it.

that will work perfectly.

just don't try and brace your downpipe as suggested above, you'll crack your exhaust like every day and you'll hate your self! ;)

from the motor torqing, it rocks back and forth. lots of movement under load. I've got some pretty hefty mounts and mine still moves quite a bit. With the amount of power he's looking to make, i'd expect his motor to move the same if not more than mine. The more flex sections & just overall ability to move that the downpipe has, the better off the whole exhaust system will fair.

Thats what I figured after I read your response. Excuse my RWD mine. My engine doesn't move at all, solid mounts. I should have taken that all into account.

solid mounts ftw. when you rev the car, the car torques. not the motor lol

mine are pretty damn close to solid and it still appears that the valve cover moves almost an inch while under load on the dyno.
