Ok my question here is, Is a bigger intercooler actually better? if it is then can i get one that is 38"x 7"? is there a place that can custom make one that size? cause thats the size of my opening on my new bumper.

Thanks,
Jim

no bigger is not better, smaller intercooler = quicker response/less lag. Get a cooler that fits your turbo/hp goals. Most IC's are rated to a HP number. Ballpark it through that.

Like Cory said you dont need something that is huge if you are running a small turbo

My Hp goal is prolly around 250-300 or more. I just want it to be a decent setup to where i can still drive it without any complications and have it reliable enough to shit and get on the highway if need be.LOL

Oh snap touché. I think your power numbers are a bit unrealistic but good luck.

250-300 isn't that much my friends 30th anniv. Trans Am is 300 and its not going to the moon. I think its resonable for a street cruiser. and plus the new turbo cobalt is 260 and its not going to the moon either. so i don't know what you guys are talking about.LOL

I can get custom intercoolers made if you really want - there are some companies that will make custom sized intercoolers - however, its going to cost more than from just choosing from what they offer as 'standard sizes' available. From what you want to make (hp), your not going to need anything crazy.
