Hello my name is Bob. I have a 2004 Subaru STi... little mods... Ecutek, exhaust, wastegate, a mild cam, megan racing coil overs. I ran a 12.1 @ 117... i know its fast for a stock turbo STi lol. I met David on myspace, he put up a post about needing members. I am here for anything, i would like to help out and get the name out my way more.

That trap is fast as fuck for a stock turbo, do you have the slip or a vid of the run?

Welcome!

When you say the last yellow do you mean the top most before lock on the dccd? Also how do you slip the clutch? How are people who say they are pulling 13.1's bone stock doing it? Are they lieing?
Leaving (launching) on the last yellow referring to the staging lights on the Christmas tree. I have a WRX ('rex'), not an STi - no DCCD.

I slip the clutch as I stated in my previous post. Let it out too fast and the car will bog for a couple of seconds - too slowly and the clutch will burn up (I can smell the clutch material in the cabin within seconds). It takes practice but a good launch will be reflected in your 60 ft times.

Locally, guys with stock STis are pulling low-13 second E.T.s, but lightly modified STis are pulling in the 12.50s to 12.80s and trapping up to 109 MPH.

117 isn't totally outrageous or anything, its doable. Its just a bit surprising that baby turbo can pull that mph, if it was a bigger aftermarket one i could understand

Comparing 98mph traps to 117 is like comparing a bbgun to a .357

104 stock, lightly modded 109.

An 8mph gain OVER that in a stock turboed/pumpgas awd car is ALOT. That's all.

Agreed honestly, most stock STI's trap around 100 even from what I've seen. Hell Beefy with a protune could only muster out a 99.7mph at 300awhp on a mustang dyno at QRC...

To be honest I find the 117mph trap had to believe on stock turbo... I've seen 110-112 with a lightened STI stock turbo, but never 117.... Thats EVO territory with cams which the STI simply is not in turbo wise....

Dave I believe you ran a 13.8 @ 95mph as your best.

my knowledge of subies is pretty limited, but if he did run a 12.1 he should be trapping mid teens

Not if he blew off a nice 1.6 60ft. I see muscle trap 110-111 all the time and run a 12 flat.

Look at Gary's t/a running mid 11's at 117-118.... hes cutting 1.6 60's.

well yeah, but that muscle is n/a... a turbo car is gonna trap a few mph higher generally. for example your nissan trapped 108-109 @ 12.8 right? my car would probably trap at about 105-106 with a slightly better 60'

when i took her with street tires i was getting 2.6+ 60' and still trapping 101-102 @ low 13s

12.8 with a 1.91 60ft..... You take off 3 tenths there, down to a 1.6 60ft that 3 tenths in the 60ft = 6 tenths in the quarter look at that a 12.2@109..... Which has been done a FEW times now with a BPU rb25 in a 240sx. Trapping between 109-111.

continue?

hm, well i guess i was assuming you had a decent launch... regardless, you're still gonna pull a little mph on a turbo car vs n/a (especially in comparison to a small block)

though i don't quite think u'd pick up a full 6 tenths on a 1.6 60ft
