Take back the keys!

When listing an item, or w/e you want to sell please include the price, name, contact information, all that jazz for the potential buyers who might be reading the thread.

ALSO: If you have less than 20 posts I'm deleting your thread. Using this site for sole advertisement of an item of yours is not cool. Instead actually contribute in some way to the forum community, then feel free to advertise your items.

EDIT:

The seller sets the price, its his/her item, its their price. DO NOT FLAME/BITCH ON THEIR PRICE. If you are interested in the item simply PM them asking about how firm they are on the pricing. If your not interested and have nothing constructive to say about the item GTFO.

While I agree with the standards, I kinda feel like debating this statement. I understand why you don't want randoms coming on here for the sole purpose of selling shit, but I kinda feel like because this is such a small local hangout, that making this a common 'swap meet' kinda place would be nice. Aside from craigslist, people don't really have a central place to post their stuff. I know MVO has a classifieds section, but I feel as though this site is more welcoming, seeing as we tend to accept a wider variety of cars. Also, I'd like to be able to come on here and see alot of local people selling their stuff, and not have to resort to getting shit shipped.

Oh, and alot of older car doods might not enjoy the forum experience, and may just want to get rid of some parts. I don't want to exclude them.

I think it will rule out a chance to for some of us to find what we are looking for if we dont let people come on here for the first time to sell. Plus, it may attract people to visit more often.

Well with local classifieds, it isn't like you're going to Paypal someone the money and have it shipped. You know what you're getting because you will drive to their house and pick it up.

I see what you are saying Nick, but I dont sell my stuff on here. I sell just fine on other forums.

But it pisses me off to just see people come in post what they want to sell and leave. I have NO idea who they are, I know every other forum I am on restricts this same policy to prevent the same thing from happening.

Hell on supraforums you cant post a vehicle for sale unless you have been a member for 2.5 years or 200+ posts.... so I think 20 posts is fair...I think thats like my daily average, not like its hard to accomplish.

Come in Introduce yourself, say hi. yeah.. then you can sell I feel. If thats not what you guys want thats fine, take it off, just trying to hold some value to this place so were not just milked off.

Well I just don't think that there's enough people that even know about this site for there to be abuse. I personally don't care if people go introduce themselves, the point is for it to become big enough where we wouldnt want 500 noob threads to say "Hi! Welcome!" to.

But whatever, lets just play it by ear, I don't really see it being a problem.
