tell me about them. im looking to get one this summer. maybe a gsxr 600 or something along the lines. i dont know alot about them, but i feel i can learn about them better than cars. i plan on having it for evening/night cruising. ive never ridden one so idk how they handle. i have fears. the main thing is cars pulling out in front of me but im sure i can handle that by being a responsible rider. but other things like potholes, wet sewer caps, and the bike wobbling when going fast. any advice or anything from some of you sports bike people?

just get a moped and put a sweet exhaust on it and a custom paint job and then call it a day.

I dont ride sportbikes(after i buy another car its next on the list though  ), but have a big interest in them and researched alot about them. IMO, and from reading alot, don't start out on a 600. Do like deviant said, go buy a cheap 250 or 500 to learn on that you dont care if you drop it and then upgrade later. even a 650 twin wouldn't be bad. Go to http://www.sportbikeworld.com and do some research there. its a pretty good forum, you'll get better answers there than from a bunch of car guys here lol.
and remember, gear up to go down

go sign up for the rider safty course. it's 25 bux and they supply the bikes.

that will get your started.

buy a ninja 250, easy bike to learn on and they are cheap.

One rule, always ride within your limits. Everyone has thier own limitations, know yours.

check your local bmv, classes have limits of how many people so that it's not packed. You get one on one training & they will teach you all the basics as if you never road before. Even if you have road before, it's a hell of a good refresher & will remind you of things you might have forgotten about. At the end of the class, if you can handle the bike through their obstical course, you get your licence.

To many spods out there think they can ride and they cant....

Start small and work your way up if your serious. Wear proper gear, and learn your bike. You will live longer that way.

thats why i didnt just go out and buy a bike. im gonna take the classes tony reccommended and if all goes well get the new 09' ninja 250. i heard 250's sell easily for what you get them as long as you take care of them so you can always upgrade. i think being on a bike all these years, a sports bike is what i belong on rather than in a car.

dude, he's not that big of a guy.

The 250's are a lot of fun & extreamly easy to learn on. I rode george's last week after doin some maintenance on it for him. They are a blast.

Now to you rob, they probly feel like be bein on my pitbike, so i understand where your comming from but for someone my size, i had the thing up to 80mph in no time and it had much more to go. (his was an 07)

eh my minds set on a 250. i probably can handle a 600 but im going to take this sorta slow and learn about the bike. handling it isnt the thing. its avoiding potholes (especially at night), wet sewage caps, gravel, and sharp turns and idiot drivers. theres no time for error but always time to upgrade
