lol lemme see you build a high powered car with no formal education on the subject, and everyone telling you that it's not possible and turn their back on you when you ask them serious questions about bearing loading & tolorances, just because it's a 4 cylinder.

Trial & Error was my teacher, I tought my self everything i know about cars. I think i've come pretty far.

just a little humor, no offense intended.. but if i was looking into build a "high power" drag car to put down 4xxhp i would look in to a v8....but to each there own.....
btw how the car running?

Maybe if you payed attention in spelling class it wouldn't have been so hard!!

I'm just messing with you man, but seriously why didn't you just talk to a machinist? Jerry at Crank 'n Sleeve was really cool with me when I had questions, and he's right there in Girard. I can't imagine the resources on putting together a Honda bottom end could be so limited.

i'm sorry my spelling sucks. I suffer from dyslexia so i never really picked it up well in school.

Anyone could build a decent honda bottom end, hell when i built my ls bottom end it wasn't that hard and it held together for 2 years worth of abuse until i wanted more out of it and decided that the cylinder walls weren't strong enough to take it.

Nobody with a dart block wants to share their information coz they are all professional racers. The block has been a challange to work with. I think i finally have things figured out but won't know until i put more miles on the car. And I delt with Bill at B&B in warren for years because he has his own nitro car & races. He was oly able to help me so much. There are a lot of differences in setup a V motor vs. an Inline motor. Most all of the machinists around here know how to setup a hell of a V motor but get things all messed up when it comes to an inline motor built to be abused. I've tried many different ideas for setup, they all seem to make decent power, some last longer than others, but in the end, i'm the one dumping the money into the enigne. I have a shelf full of crankshafts to prove the tests.

Not even Mr. Gasket could figure it out with their team of professionals. Hell they sent me 2 dart engines to examine for them, thats how i got such a good deal on mine. It's been a lot of trial and error but i've yet to give up. I don't think any of you guys on this board know how much work and research has really gone into this car.

IDK if this big long blob of text really has a point, but there is a lot more to building a car than buying it bolting on some parts to make it fast.

Well for 1, CrankFlex:

When you have two pistons up & two pistons down, and it rotates with high load, the crank will fles and bow from the center outword. Regardless of type of crank, stock, eagle, ect. It's just the nature of the inline 4.

crank flexs under high load & allowing for it with a loose center works best.

the last one, we tried to prohibit crank flex by running a normal clearance in the center & it ended up smaching the bearing.

V style motrs don't see as drastic of an amount of crank flex because the crank is always being pushed & pulled from so many different directions.

I've actually concidered going back to an LS block & sending it out to be sleeved, just to see if it can hold the crank still better. But that would cost me an additional 2 grand to build another bottom end, and i really don't feel like dumping any more money into that car, because i've been having so much more fun off-road.

not sure if you want to blame it on the crank flex... u may want to put your "crank flex tollerance" research on hold and maybe dump a little book time into your tuning capeabilities. just my 2 cents...

all im saying is when you tuned my computer it backfired through the intake..... never ever ever in my life seen that before and the kicker is it was just a base tune no tricky maps to write or any of that.... i still have the computer if you do not believe me. and i have yet to hear a good tuning story.... im not stirring shit just letting everyone know of the quality tune i got and this way they have a pre warning .... if only i knew what i know now......

i never tuned your car, i only chipped your computer and gave you a stock map on it. You had a wiring mess in your car, i'm not the one to blame for that.

I have plenty of people that can vouch for my tuning abilitys, both street and track cars.
