so i pulled the trans today cause i thought my throw out bearing was making some noise at the end of last year and i wanted to check the input shaft to make sure it wasn't wearing funny or anything. Pulled it out and the bearing was fine, one of the fucking prongs on the fork that snaps on to the ball broke clean off... had the damn thing in the car for 3 months! Went to summit and bitched them out, replaced it for free. :thumbsup:

Was a lakewood fork too....

had a few small leaks after winter so i'm tearing the top half of the motor apart again and putting all new gaskets on it. Gonna clean her up and get a few things powder coated, she'll be all nice and shiny again for spring!

and just for kicks i timed how long it took me to pull the trans and motor out of my car for brett, took 4 hours to totally gut it and tear the top half of the motor down (in my garage on jack stands with hand tools) :thumbsup:

Granted this is like the 5th time i've had everything out of it in the last few years, got it down to a science by now :lol:

cory or dave, i'll need to steal one of you to get the trans back in again, expect a phone call in the next week!

OH YEAH food for thought. My first clutch install took me 30hrs on the 240, my second took me 1 hour.

The first time is always a huge learning process.

lol took me a 2 hours to tear the top half down to just the block.... had some problems w/ the exhaust or it woulda been much easier, thank god for sawzall's ... anyways took like 3 days once i had everything to put it back together...itwas cold last winter...and handtools really aren't fun w/o gloves
