yeah i watched the vid we had and it was more than that. way more. anyway he said he TRIED to time it so it was down shifted at the third honk.... he failed miserably.

Well I don't know shit about LS1's, but I'll try my best to explain..
I'll make this short and simple. The older LS1 have a different form of throttle control. My old V6 had it as well. The NEWER LS1 will kick the pedal back at you when you start to slip, instead of the old form where it would actually reduce the engines power. Judging by this AND the piston slap, I'm guessing Scott's was a 98 or 99?
In case you didn't know, the shift lever is not directly attached to anything in the transmission. When you click up to second gear, the COMPUTER shifts it to second.. why not just leave it in drive? So it doesn't down shift? I'll deal with it not down shifting before I try and out shift my computer.
What went down tonight is a couple of 20-something year olds started a race for the purpose of creating some drama. Sad, but true.
