Mitsubisihi Quality?! where is it going....

Postby Rb25Cory » Thu May 08, 2008 11:46 am

This is sad to me, very sad... all of these auto makers are getting so cheap in building their products I think they are forgetting the line between cheap and shit quality...

First one on supraforums... now one on nasioc..... I'm sure there will be many more...

If you read, they say the new STI has the same setup. Sad.

I LOLd

But yah you can go plastic but they should of used a harder plastic. I think starting in 06 it was drive by wire on the WRX's and the STi might of started in 05, I have cables :D and steel brackets hah!

Harder plastic might have made it even more brittle, and just have been worse. How about they use fucking steel like the brake and clutch pedal? This is something I'd have expected from GM... times are changing...

Maybe the word I was looking for was hardened. I have seen it before it is very rigid I forget what I saw it used on though.

My Miata has the same setup since it's drive by wire. I don't see the issue. The other pedals are still metal. I don't know how you could ever put enough force on it to break it. I actually love the drive by wire on my Miata, on other cars like the Corolla, it sucks.

You would have to push the pedal past the point where it stops at, I think it is doable but you would have to press pretty hard

Since when has Mitsubishi have ever been know for their quality..? I think the DSM cars alone are one of the most unreliable vehicles on the road. I think it's only Toyota that has "better build quality" than GM. And that's pretty much bullshit too these days..

I see more shitty stupid plasictish parts on most GM cars than any other I've worked on, just look at one of their dashes... Don't get me wrong I've seen this on others as well...but

Changing a simple serpentine belt/alternator on a cavalier is just retarded how they smash the belts against the shock tower like that... Also trying to remove the intake manifold from a Blazer is DUMB as shit... I feel there could have been more time and energy invested into its removal since the driver side gasket typically blows around 70k miles... But no they make it not possible unless you basically remove most of the front accessories...

This might sound biased, but my 240 is extremely easy to work on, its gotten harder since I crammed 6 cylinders into the bay instead of 4... I might like it more because theres like no rust on it, so bolts don't break, and can be fingered off after a initial breaking of the wrench.... These are 19 year old bolts too....

Craziest one is my 32mm hub nuts, took a 4 foot pussy bar and my 190lb ass to break the bolt... after that she was fingered off... mhmmm

Someone who works on these cars everyday like a tech could give better in site on the POS's they have seen and hate working on.

Wiring harness clips for Hyundia's are absolute shit, I see more Sonatos with out head/taillights due to them, than most cars on the road.
