this talks about the basics that were said earlier in more detail http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/tech_center/turbo_tech101.html

Turbo tech 102 talks about differenct manifolds and turbo trims etc.

All of the turbo tech articles on garretts site are great to learn about turbos and how they work if you were wondering about that too.

Boost: 7 psi
â–  Rear Wheel Horsepower: 394
■ %’d increase: 44%
â–  Rear Wheel Torque: 449
■ %’d increase: 48%
â–  1/4 mile time reduction: ~1.3 seconds

This kit picked up 121 HP AT THE REAR WHEELS at a modest 7psi, making 394 WHP and 449 lb/ft of torque. Enough power on tap to liquefy the rear tires on demand.

for 3995.00... seems pricey... but its good garrett turbo and nice tune

custom ftw

not using an STS... don't like hte rear mount... i can find a package on ebay for much cheaper... and even if i can get the turbo, the intercooler, and the bov for 1k its not a bad deal, i can find someone to make the piping

yeah but i figured it would be cheaper getting it directly from them. i called them and they told me that they didnt list a price because they will customise the kit for your price range and horsepower goals....diffrent turbo, intercooler, so on and so forth. they said they have kits from like 2 grand flat up to like 4500. they also said that a intercooler was not really needed because the air comes from the rear up to the front so the air is already cool. and its not worth the hp gain for the money of the inercooler with that setup. i like it because the turbo keeps cooler and probably would break as easy. and theres not that much of a need for a turbo timer. plus the hp per pound of boost is better then anything i have found.

if you look at there universal kits is shows the prices with like price varying or something like that in parenthesis next to the turbo b/c you can get different setups like you said.

..... no comment.

I don't recommend running any turbo setup without an ic, unless u plan on running it far under efficiency.... which kinda defeats the purpose of doing it?!

As for how much hp u can get out of it, sure the 7lb rating is modest... but u need to research what your stock internals are capable of holding. Last thing u wanna do is throw a rod. $$$$

Regardless of what u end up running make sure u get arp studs for the rods and caps.

As for turbo information, what do u plan on doing to the motor exactly? are u keeping the bottom end stock?

u can get the same power, gonna be slightly more expensive but quicker spool. Imo twins are better for applications that aren't reving high

FYI Most rear mounted turbos are non intercooled as the gas spooling the turbo is far less hot, and the charge piping is like a mile long. So the temps aren't crazy.

They aren't as efficient as underhood (obviously), but they do work and makes for less of a packaging nightmare.

Well go try and cram two slugs in that engine bay and get back to me

A huge part of the efficiency difference is the exhaust gas driving the turbos close to the engine, is that the gas is rapidly expanding as it's leaving the combustion chambers. A good percent of that expansion (moreso than after axle) is done as the gas is entering the turbine housing, so it's cramming as much as it can in, pushing the blades harder and creating more power. The overall volume is still the same at the end of the exhaust, but the energy and velocity is lost.

I don't like the idea of a remote oil pump or if you slid the car over something, but the #'s speak for themselves. No increased underhood temps and easy install. I've seriously considered one in another future fbody.
It whistles while it WORKS.

I suck.
