I would almost like to put a stock exhaust back on mine, and just run the cutout. I don't know if i'm into buzzing around town anymore.

Good luck accomplishing that with a 3400. I took the resonator off and installed a high flow cat on my GTP and thats as close as "ricer" as anything I'll ever own. I wrecked it last winter and installed an SLP ram air hood on it, but didn't bother painting it because I decided I would rather finish my WS6 than investing $$ in a quasi-performance car like a GTP. Honestly, I wouldn't even bother with a Grand Am. That's one of those money pit cars that'll cost you 8 million dollars to run 13s and at the end of the day, people will still ask you if it's your gf's car...
very true... i have one, its hard to find parts for and a huge waste of money and time.. there not meant to handle alot of hp... and at the end of the day its a Auto Grand am.... it was a good price, but i would drive it stock, and save money for a car that has potential... and this is comming from a Grand am ownerEVIL_WS6 wrote:I agree, whatever floats your boat. But just take it as a warning. There's almost no aftermarket for them and the little that does exist is basically universal stuff which offers only slight gains. I've watched people dump tons of money in the 3100 and 3400 V6 engines, including camshafts, nitrous kits and even forged internals, only to recieve lukewarm results at best. Those engines were NEVER designed for performance, but more for "sporting economy". There was a twin turbo kit offered through SLP at one time, but no one bought one and GMPP offered a Roots-style blower for about a 6 month period back in '02-'03, which only sold about 100 kits. You might be able to find one on eBay now, but even those will only get you into the low 15s. However, I do have an issue of High Performance Pontiac, where someone from Canfield actually had one in the 13s. Let me dig the issue up and I could tell you his name, but frankly, if you love your GA that much, I would consider an entire engine swap. Like an L67 GTP engine. You would be much further ahead than dumping money in bolt ons and engine components on that 3400..

Was pretty deep for a V6 at idle, and has a nice sound when accelerating and driving. Just don't get rid of your cat, it'll sound raspy.
