brembos are HUGE to see, glad the finally caught on after all these years..
From the article nick it seems as if the launch control really didn't work to well.

Yah I saw that, but it's cool that they were thinking in that mindset while designing the car.

I'm sure Rick knows more on the subject.

Funny, since Motor Trend ran a 14.5 with it and other magazines were in the 14.4-14.9 range. Those engines (LSJ) were actually underrated, considering that they put down 215-230@the wheels from the factory. But I'm glad the CSS finally went turbo. When I first started in Lordstown back in '04, we were building the pilot '05 Cobalt models, engineers from Detroit were there and a couple of them were telling me that the supercharged engine was only temporary and a turbo version will be out in a few years. They also told me that the Cobalt itself was a "stop-gap" car and "the real" new GM comact will be out around 2009 or so. This was back in '04, mind you. The Saturn ION has been killed off and they've replaced it with the European built Astra. Supposedly in another year or so, that car will be built in Lordstown and we're also supposed to get a mid-size sedan as well. Possibly the Euro-market Caddy BLS. That's all I know for the moment..

However I dont entirely agree with the reason they went turbo. Who spends all kinda $$$ if you plan to just remove the car and add a turbo later.

Rb25Cory wrote:I feel it was the competition of the srt-4 and JDM compacts who came factory with turbos that lead GM to its choice. I mean I've seen plenty of SS's at the tracks running 15's to 16's..... I've yet to see a quick one that still retained its factory supercharger...

Rb25Cory wrote:Lol ^^ Didnt know we were getting technical here on our terminology with brands. You know what I meant.
Rb25Cory wrote:Needless to say I feel it would be money more well spent to buy the turbo version, instead of the old supercharger one.... this all granted you like FWD's and colbalts..
